‘Being green’ is not easy nowadays. It means doing no harm to nature and being friendly to the environment. However, most people are already green enough and have a responsibility to protect the environment!

I think it is possible to be green in today’s modern world. First, people should learn to recycle them waste. Second, they should not pollute the environment by throwing away rubbish everywhere. In addition, humans ought not to deforest the Earth.

Unfortunately, some people are still careless. They undervalue the situation. In my opinion environmental education is extremely important in order to preserve the clean atmosphere, water and air. Moreover, factories and plants should stop polluting the environment.

In conclusion, I believe that all of us must do our best to be as green as possible. The lives of future generations depend on it. The prosperity of our planet is in our hands.

My summer.

I spent my summer holidays very well.

In June I was at home.

I didn^’t travel anywhere.

I went for walks with my friends.

I often went to the Volga River to swim.

Sometimes I went to the cinema.

In July I travelled to Khvalynsk together with my pa rents.

We had a very good time there.

There was a lot to see and do in  Khvalynsk.

The town zoo made a great impression on me.

In August I went to the country.

The village was on the bank of the Volga River.

I watcher a very interesting tournament there the Knights` Tournament.

Especially I was impressed by the knights` battles and horse riding.

I had a lot of fun during my summer holidays.

Thanks for your letter. I’m really upset about your problems, but try to be on the bright side.

Anyway, I’m writing to make suggestions. I know it’s boring to be at home in the summer but you cold make the best of the situation, If your parents don’t want you to go, I guess there’s not much you can do about it.

If  I were you, I’d not argue about this. Take it easy. Why don’t you take a tour of your city or make a bus trip to see the local landmarks? Do you fancy doing water sports on your nearby beach? That’s what I do!  It would do you a lot of good. If the weather’s rainy you may do the reading.

Well, I really must go now as I’ve got to study for a maths exam, write back soon.

Spring and Labor Day is a public holiday in Russia .This day is known as the Day of the International Solidarity of Workers, in the Russia . 

On the 5-th of May, I am invited to my friend’s birthday party. He’ll be 14.

May 7 - The day of radio and telecoms workers (professional holiday)  is a commemoration of the development of radio in Russia. This is the day of communication engineers.

May 8 - This is the day when my parents  married.

This is the day when Russian Army defeat German Army in the second world war. Parades and celebrations, fire works and concerts devoted to the veterans take place in every part of the country. No one is forgotten, and people think about those who gave their lives for country.

On the 14-th of May our family is going to celebrate my elder brother’s birthday. He’ll be 22.

A Talent Contest.

One I happened to take part in a talent contest which was held at our school last year. It was the most exciting experience I`ve ever had. All the contestants had to make up interesting stories on some situation.

I arrived at the place half an hour before the contest and met twenty other contestants. We were rather nervous. Then Tom Smith, the presenter, came in and told us not to worry.

He said everything would be all right. It really was. Most of the contestants succeeded in making up exciting stories. The audience clapped and cheered. I started off hesitatingly but, cheered by the public, went on more confidently.

To my surprise, I was among the winners. In fact, I took the second place.

 I was really happy to get a prize- a book of legends. I had a fantastic time and I`ll never forget the experience.

This love story arose much gossip. Mary and John were engaged a year ago. Just then I moved house and happened to be their neighbour. They seemed to be a lovely pair in front of other people, but I noticed that when they were alone John theater Mary badly. Sometimes he was rude to her. At such moments Mary felt confused and was very upset. However, she tried to excuse his conduct, because she was in love with him. She believed that nothing would destroy their happiness. Soon they got married. John often lied to Mary and put her in a difficult situation. As far as I know, he got involved in criminal activity. Mary saw it as a disaster-she began to argue with her husband. Her relationship with John got worse and worse. His serious problems drove her crazy. Mary understood that their marriage was destined to split up. Her life seemed like a volcano.

  At last she got divorced.

Sports and Games.

Sport plays a great role in my life, I go in for swimming.

In fact, I have practiced swimming for five years.

I am not bad at swimming.

I have taken part in swimming competitions several times.

Once I took the third place.

A lot of people go in for sport because it helps them to keep fit.

As for me, sport helps me to be strong and healthy.

Football and tennis are the most popular sports both in Great Britain and in Russia. Golf and cricket are very popular in Great Britain.

Hockey and skiing are very popular in Russia.

I prefer to play volleyball and basketball because I like team games. I often practice them with my friends, but I don^, t watch them on TV as I am not a basketball or volleyball fan.

I have watched football and hockey competitions at the stadium several times. I was very excited.

There are some international sports competions. The most grandiose ones are the Olympic Games.

There are summer and winter sports. Summer sports include track and field, boating, football, cycling, etc.

Winter sports include hockey, skiing, skating, bobsleighing and others.

I think figure skating is the most beautiful sport. I find car racing the most dangerous. In my opinion, swimming is the most useful sport for health.

I consider football the most interesting game to watch.

To my mind, golf is the least interesting game to watch.

In my view, sports and games are a great invention of the time, which makes our leisure time interesting and exciting.
